Two Talkeetna residents were injured late Saturday after their plane crashed west of the Willow airport.

 

According to Alaska State Troopers, 20-year-old Robin Spaulding was flying the plane with 29-year-old John Cabaud on board. Cabaud was instructing Spaulding on night-flying when the crash occurred.

 

Troopers say both on board sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

 

Willow Fire and EMS personnel were unable to reach the crash site. A helicopter dispatched by the Alaska Rescue Coordination Center was able to rescue both Spaulding and Cabaud.
