The George Parks Highway was closed for about a half an hour Thursday due to a 2 vehicle accident near milepost 94.
Alaska State Troopers report that a 29 year old Talkeetna woman was attempting to pass a slow moving vehicle. The driver, Holli Papasodora, noticed an oncoming pickup truck and attempted to re-enter her own lane. She lost control and spun down the middle of the Highway. The oncoming pickup truck, driven by a 44 year old Anchorage man, tried to avoid the collision. The vehicles collided and the pickup truck left the roadway and rolled over once, coming to a stop upright. Merrilyn Papasodora, passenger in the first vehicle, was transported to Mat Su Regional with minor injuries. No other injuries were reported. Everyone was wearing a seatbelt.
Papasodora says everyone is okay and it was wonderful to know all the Emergency Personnel that responded to the scene to assist.
Both vehicles were totaled and towed from the scene.
The accident is still under investigation.
