Up the creek without a permit

A man who left his four-by-four in a creek after getting it stuck during an attempted crossing received a criminal misdemeanor summons for not having a permit to cross a stream used by spawning salmon.

Alaska Wildlife troopers responded to call of a Chevy Blazer that was submerged in Deception Creek near Willow. The vehicles owner had attempted to cross the creek, but he neglected to first obtain a permit from the Alaska Department of Fish and Game to use tracked or wheeled vehicles to cross a body of water classified as anadromous.
