Overnight rain and warmer temperatures have significantly worsened road conditions in the Upper Valley, according to the Department of Transportation. This morning, the State of Alaska classified Mile 52 to 99 of the Parks Highway as “difficult.” The Parks Highway north of the Talkeetna Spur has been classified as “very difficult,” as has Petersville Road. The Talkeetna Spur Road is currently classified as “hazardous.”
