The Miles Broomsfield art show on October 10th at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar has been canceled.

Denali Arts Council is hosting a mask making workshop at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar on Sunday, October 5th from 1pm to 4pm. All supplies will be provided. This is an opportunity to make a mask to wear to the Denali Art's Councils annual Take Back the Town Masquerade Ball on October 11th. Learn more at denaliartscouncil.org.

On Saturday, October 4th, Denali Arts Council hosts Arctic Entries at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar. Local storytellers will tell their true stories of small town secrets: Stories of Ghosts, Gatherings, and Good Times. The doors at 6:30pm, and the show at 7pm.

The Jessica Stevens Community Foundation is hosting a community dance party on Friday, October 3rd. All are invited to a concert featuring the ska band Nervis Rex at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar. The doors open at 7:15 and the music starts at 7:30pm.

As a part of the Denali Arts Council’s Performing Arts Season, they host a family-friendly action-comedy with Alex Zerbe the Zaniac, on Wednesday, October 1st at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar. This show stars a hacky sack world champion who can beatbox, juggle, dance, sing, and perform magic. Doors open at 6:30pm and the show starts at 7. Tickets available at denaliartscouncil.org.

Denali Arts Council hosts a concert with Last Train at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar on Saturday, September 20th. Last Train has been shaped by the musical journey of its members, with influences ranging from roots rock, pop, and country to punk. Doors open at 6pm and the music starts at 7pm. On Friday, September 19th, Denali Arts Council is presenting emerging Alaskan voices. Six talented writers will share their work, from poetry to prose. Some are current University of Alaska creative writing students, others are published authors and former students now doing interesting things with their lives. Doors open at 7pm and the reading starts at 7:30pm.

Denali Arts Council hosts Sip 'n' Swap, Not Shop, a clothing, books, and reusable items swap, at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar on Sunday, September 14th from 2 to 5pm. All are welcome to bring freshly laundered clothing, books and usable items in great condition to swap with something new to you. Beverages will be available for purchase, please bring a snack to share.

Talkeetna Elementary PTA hosts the Talkeetna Trail Race tomorrow, Saturday, September 13th. Bib pickup and day of registration begins at 9:30am at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar. More information on the Talkeetna Trail Race Facebook page.

Denali Arts Council hosts a Tiny Art Show and a Tiny Art Workshop at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar on Friday, September 12th from 4 to 6pm. A Memorial for Tom Sisul is on Saturday, August 23rd at 3 PM at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar. Please bring a potluck dish to share.

Denali Arts Council is holding open auditions for a musical comedy show called the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee on August 18th at 7pm at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar. Be prepared by knowing your vocal range, prepared to sing at least 10-12 bars of any song, to do a bit of dramatic reading or improv. Must be available to rehearse during September & October. Denali Arts Council hosts a Youth Art Show featuring art made during the Upper Susitna Fine Arts Camp on Saturday, August 9th from 3 to 6pm at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar. There will also be a dance performance during the art show, at 5pm.

The Talkeetna Historical Society hosts their closing event Salmon Run Art Auction at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar on Sunday, July 27th from 3 to 6pm. Visitors can view all salmon in person that are in the online auction and enjoy some snacks. There will be 4 late-run salmon auctioned off live at the event.  Online bidding is open through July 27th at 5 pm.  Help will be available at the event to participate in the online auction. Denali Arts Council is hosting the band ​High Step Society for an indoor/outdoor show at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar on Thursday, July 24th, with music beginning at 7:00pm.
