Denali Arts Council hosts a Jazz Concert with Maestro Rocco John Iacovone (“E-ya-ka-vone-ay”) at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar. Rocco's Jazz Workshop attendees present their final performance with special musical guests, Joel Mosier and Steve Durr. Additionally, led by Denise Iacovone, painters from the Making the Audible Visible workshop will be on stage painting during the performance. Doors open at 6:30pm and the music starts at 7.

Denali Arts Council hosts a night of music with professional actress and theater director, Kaitlin Lawrence, on Saturday, June 28th at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar. Kaitlin’s performance includes a setlist ranging from show tunes to Bonnie Raitt and original songs, with a splash of Broadway flair. Doors open at 6:30pm, the show starts at 7.

There is a fundraising event for Denali Rescue Volunteers at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar on Saturday, June 7th at 7pm. Roger Robinson presents Denali South Buttress Climbs, as a tribute to Denali’s volunteer rescue legacy. Talkeetna’s Roger Robinson will recount his 1975 climb of Denali’s remote South Buttress—a journey that launched his 45-year career in the Alaska Range. The talk includes rare photos and audio from the original 1954 ascent and rescue and Denali’s first helicopter evacuation. There will be door prizes and donations are welcome at the door.

The public is invited to a Don Sheldon Memorial Reception and Statue Reveal at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar on Saturday, May 31st to honor the life and flying of Talkeetna's pioneer bush pilot, Don Sheldon. Attendees are welcome to share stories of Don at 5:00pm. There is a community potluck at 6:00pm followed by live polka music from Alaska's Main Squeeze.

Denali Arts Council hosts this year’s Fly Fishing Film Tour at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar on Saturday, May 17th. This lineup of films captures the spirit of adventure and perseverance in the world of fly fishing. Doors open at 6:30pm and the film starts at 7pm. Denali Arts Council's Music Academy presents a Mother's Day Concert with the Rhythm and Red Shoe Ensemble, Desperate Measures and the Community Choir on Sunday, May 11th at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar. Doors open at 3:30pm, and the concert begins at 4pm.

Wasteland Hop will be perform at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar on Saturday, May 10th. Out of Fort Collins, Colorado, Wasteland Hop plays a soulful and unique blend of folk, rock, and hip-hop. Denali Arts Council hosts Steve Durr's art opening and book signing at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar on Saturday, May 3rd from 3 to 6pm. At 4pm, Steve will read selected portions from his book; Ptarmigan Song. All are welcome.

On Friday and Saturday, April 25th and 26th, the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar will once again become the 1950s nightclub, 'The Copa Denali' for the Dudes and Divas' Doo Wop show. Denali Arts Council and Friends of the Talkeetna Library host Lightwire Theater, presenting a puppeteering and storytelling workshop at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar on Saturday, April 19th from 10:30 to 11:30am. They will first show off their puppets, demonstrate how they work and answer questions. They will then lead families into creating their own puppets using everyday household items. Open to all ages. We are hosting The KTNA Game Show tonight (Friday, April 18th) at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar. This is an evening of public radio inspired games from Wait! Wait! Don’t Tell Me! followed by Music Quizzes and Local Trivia. There are opportunities for the audience to participate, and we have a special musical finale planned! The Susitna River Coalition's final Winter Speaker Event of the season will be in person on Thursday, April 17th at 6PM at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar. The event will cover the history of gold mining in Cache Creek and ongoing efforts to restore salmon habitat in the area.
