Denali Arts Council hosts The Risan Project at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar on Thursday, April 10th. The evening begins with a screening of Northward, a short documentary on Todd Anders Johnson’s band, Salem, touring and backcountry snowboarding in Alaska. This is followed by the expedition-based climate change documentary Cresta Alta, chronicling a journey to Alaska, Iceland, Chile and Peru to document glaciological research expeditions and sustainability. Denali Arts Council hosts Arctic Entries on Saturday, April 5th at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar. On Saturday, March 22nd, Denali Arts Council presents Unit Souzou with their production Constant State of Otherness. The show starts at 7pm at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar. Denali Nordic Ski Club presents the film, The Last King, at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar on Friday March 7th. This R-rated film begins at 7:30pm, after Oosik Registration. This film screening is a folk tale set in 1206 Norway, about ski champions who protect a child with a royal following.

Denali Arts Council hosts a concert with Matt Heckler on Sunday, March 2nd at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar. Matt is a multi-instrumentalist known for his raw, soulful take on Appalachian and early bluegrass music, with influences from Eastern Europe and Ireland. The Talkeetna Skatepark Committee presents: Krew Feud, a family-friendly live game show fundraiser in the style of Family Feud.  The event is Saturday, March 1st at 6pm at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar. There is a suggested donation. All raised funds to go towards the construction of the Talkeetna Skatepark.

Denali Arts Council's fundraising event, Raising Spirits, is Saturday, February 22nd from 4 to 7pm. There will be artisanal foods and craft cocktails from Alaskan distilleries, music, an art auction and an aerialist. 100% of funds raised benefit the Denali Arts Council including the Emmila A Denny Scholarship Fund, the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar, and summer youth programming.
