Talkeetna Public Library hosts Storytime at 11:15am on Thursdays with a snack, stories and a craft. Storytime this week is Water Safety. The Water Rescue team from the Mat Su Borough Emergency Services join the program. All ages are welcome to attend. The Talkeetna Library continues their celebration of National Library Week with a variety of activities through Saturday. Everyone is invited to “Find Your Joy" and join in the activities. The Friends of the Talkeetna Library are hosting two more computer classes this spring. On Friday, April 24th there is a class covering A.I. Basics. And on Friday, May 8th, there is a class on Scam Busters. Each computer class is from 1 to 3pm at the Talkeetna Public Library. The Talkeetna Sunshine Gardening Club is starting up again at the Talkeetna Library. They will be meeting to discuss Transplanting Seedlings today, Tuesday April 14th at 5pm. Talkeetna Library hosts the last Tween Page to Screen program for the season on Saturday, April 11th from 5-7pm. The book Nancy Drew and the Hidden Staircase by Carolyn Keene will be discussed and then the movie will be compared to the book. Tweens ages 9-12 are welcome.

Alaska Commission on Aging is hosting a public webinar with Social Security Administration Regional Public Affairs Specialist, Nathan Cole, on Social Security and Medicare at the Talkeetna Public Library on Tuesday, April 7th, beginning at 12pm. Following the webinar, Sean McPhilamy, a volunteer with the State of Alaska’s Medicare Information Office, will provide an overview on Medicare. After the general discussion, he will be available for one-on-one conversations as needed, until 3pm. Talkeetna Library hosts their Teen Book to Movie program on Saturday, March 28th from 6 to 8pm. The movie this month is Stardust, based on the book by Neil Gaiman. Teens aged 13 to 18 are invited to discuss the book, enjoy the movie and share some pizza. This is the last one for the season.
