    The Talkeetna Public Library's Summer Reading Program is on Thursdays. This Thursday has the following activities.

    Storytime begins at 11am with a program by Alaska Wildbird Rehabilitation group. After Lunch on the Lawn, there will be another bird from the Wildbirds group beginning at 12:45. Following that, all are welcome to stay and have fun with Sharon and her amazing bioluminescent dinoflagellates!

    The Friends of the Talkeetna Library celebrate the Talkeetna Public Library's 10th anniversary of being in the new location on Saturday, June 28th from 12:30 to 2:30pm.     Storytime at the Talkeetna Public Library for ages 0 to 7 this week starts at 11am. The theme is Stories and Nature, and the kids will be walking the Literary Trail. At noon, Lunch on the Lawn for ages 0 to 18 is provided by the Upper Susitna Food Pantry. Weekly food bags will be available as well. Summer Reading Program begins promptly at 1pm. There will be a guided walk at the Talkeetna Lakes Park. The summer reading incentive program is open to all ages, including adult. You can sign up at the front desk.

    • Storytime for ages up to 7 begins at 11am with stories, a snack, and a craft. The theme this week is Making Friends at the Library.
    • Lunch on the Lawn is at 12pm. This week is a Barbecue for participants; registered or planning to register.
    • The Summer Reading Program for all ages begins at 1pm. This week features Field Day Games.

    The University of Alaska Fairbanks Cooperative Extension Service is offering Pressure Canner Gauge Testing today (Thursday, May 8th). They will be at the Talkeetna Public Library from 1 to 4pm. All are welcome to bring a pressure canner dial gauge in for a test to make sure it is accurate and functioning properly. New or unused gauges should be tested before first use.
