  • Pressure Canner Gauge Testing

    Church on the Rock Mile 99, S Parks Highway, Talkeetna, United States +1 more

    The University of Alaska Fairbanks Cooperative Extension Service is offering Pressure Canner Gauge Testing today (Thursday, May 8th). They will be at the Talkeetna Public Library from 1 to 4pm. All are welcome to bring a pressure canner dial gauge in for a test to make sure it is accurate and functioning properly. New or unused gauges should be tested before first use. Questions may be directed to to Melissa Clampitt at mrclampitt@alaska.edu.

    Talkeetna Public Library hosts Storytime every Thursday at 11:15am. The theme this week is May Day and there will be stories, snacks and a craft. All ages are welcome. Grab and Go craft kits will be available after 1pm in the foyer for those unable to attend.

    Strong Women exercise group meet at 10 am at the Talkeetna Public Library on Tuesdays and Thursdays. A Zoom option is available. This program is aimed at improving strength, balance and flexibility for women over 40 years old. Newcomers are always welcome, weights and instructions are provided.     The Mat-Su Health Foundation is hosting a discussion group with a focus on community health needs at the Talkeetna Public Library on Tuesday, April 29th from 11:30am until 12:30pm. Discussions will include what opportunities support health and wellbeing, and what services and healthcare access are needed in your community. Pre-registration is not required, but is appreciated.     Talkeetna Library is looking for some volunteers for the Summer Reading Program. Most programs take place on Thursdays between 11am and 2pm, with the age groups of 0-6 and 6 to 15.
