The Denali Arts Council and the Talkeetna Chamber of Commerce host Live at Five, an annual Summer Concert series beginning this Friday, May 17th. The weekly concerts are family-friendly and are every Friday from 5-7 pm at the Talkeetna Village Park. The concerts feature bands from Alaska and the lower 48. Today's band is Hussy Hicks. Denali Arts Council hosts the Kick off party for the Talkeetna Ice Festival on Saturday, January 31st in the Talkeetna Village Park from 1pm to 3pm. All are welcome to cheer on the Ice carvers, and warm up with the Talkeetna Elementary PTA soup sale. Afterwards is a winter formal dance, the Snow Ball, at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar, beginning at 7pm. There will be a costume contest, a hot cocoa bar, music and dancing.
