Wasilla legislator fined for fishing infraction

State legislator Wes Keller, 64, was cited for a fishing infraction last month when he used more than one line for sport fishing for halibut.On June 11, Alaska Wildlife Troopers contacted Keller in his 2009 custom aluminum boat near the entrance to Halibut Cove in Kachemak Bay.  Troopers found that Keller was sport fishing with more than one line and issued a citation for the offense with a fine of $110. Keller spokesperson Jim Pound said that Keller admits that he is guilty as charged. Keller said through his spokesman that even legislators can make mistakes. Keller had two fishing lines in the water when only one line was allowed to fish. Wes Keller is the House Representative for Wasilla and he is the vice-chair of the Fisheries Special committee.
