Residents of Talkeetna feared the worst when their water faucets didn’t show the usual flow of water starting this morning around 10 am. But Borough officials said that the cause of the on-again-off-again water service today is due to the commissioning of the new water treatment plant.Borough public works director Chuck Braun said that borough water technician Mike Kilgo and a contractor are working to bring the treatment plant online and are performing tests that require to turn off the water temporarily. Braun said that water outages should not last for extended periods of time and that uninterrupted water service should be back to normal on Thursday.
