Wildlife Troopers ask for assistance in illegal moose shooting incidents

The Alaska Wildlife Troopers from the Talkeetna Post are asking for the public’s help to identify suspects in the shooting of 2 moose with a bow and arrow in the Shirley Lake and Michigan street area in Willow.  The incidents occurred late in 2010 and Troopers are asking the public for assistance.

On November 21^st, wildlife Troopers responded to a call about a moose shot with an arrow on Michigan Street in Willow. Troopers responded and found a bull moose with an arrow in its left shoulder.

On December 16^th, troopers responded to a call concerning a young cow moose shot with an arrow near Shirley Lake Road.  The moose had been shot in the neck.

A reward of up to one thousand dollars is being offered leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons involved in this illegal action of taking moose during closed season.
