MOUNTAIN MOTHER CONTEST— Talkeetna’s Holli Papasodora shows off her wood chopping skills during last Sunday’s Mountain Mother competition. She placed third. Photo courtesy of Misty Herlehy
For the third time, Sandra Elving of Willow won the Mountain Mother Contest, held last Sunday on the Talkeetna Historical Society grounds. The 49-year-old mother and grandmother won the contest in three minutes and two seconds. Second place went to Heather Fish of Talkeetna, and third place was a tie between Ayla Kalke and Holli Papasodora, both of Talkeetna.
