The Mat-Su School board is throwing its weight behind the proposed wood fired boiler at the Su Valley High School.During the school board’s regular meeting last Tuesday, the board heard a presentation by Tami Hamler and Arthur Mannix urging the board to support the project.
The school board voted to do so by sending a letter of support to the Mat-Su Borough to pursue a renewable energy grant for the project and to set aside timberland to supply the fire wood.
The project has been in the works for a number of years and proposes to install a state-of-the-art wood fired boiler to provide an additional heating source to the newly-built Su Valley High School.
