A summer that has seemed overly rainy has resulted in a few areas having bankful streams.
The Hydrologic Prediction Service for the National Weather Service in Anchorage is showing the Yentna River at near flood stage near Lake Creek. The action stage is 19 feet, and flood stage is 20.5′. The current level of the river is 19.52 ‘ . It is supposed to drop over the next day or so.
It is the only stream in the area near flood stage. The Talkeetna River is currently far below flood stage. The level at the Railroad Bridge is just above 7 ‘. Flood stage of the Talkeetna is 12 feet. The current level of the Susitna is at about 14 feet. Flood stage of that river is 19 ‘.
