After days of rain, many area rivers have begun to rise again, with the most dramatic rise taking place on the Yentna. Additionally, the Skwenta River is listed at action stage, one level below minor flooding. According to projections from the Alaska-Pacific River Forecast Center, the Skwentna could enter minor flood stage.
The Talkeetna River is also listed at action stage where it is crossed by the railroad bridge. Upstream of the bridge, the Talkeetna is three feet below action stage. Area rivers are currently forecast to crest on Wednesday and begin receding.
