Mt Redoubt eruption morning update

by Sue Deyoe ~ March 23rd, 2009

6:00 a.m.  - We are still under an ashfall advisory until 8 a.m.  Some ash is in the air, but there isn’t even a dusting of ashfall currently in the Talkeetna area. Radar shows that winds seems to be blowing the ash further to the west. Schools are operating on their normal schedule.  There are no current road advisories.  Ash has not fallen in Anchorage, but flights into the Anchorage airport have been cancelled. Road conditions in Talkeetna are good, but still take caution.  See the Mat Su Borough website for a full list of precautions that can be taken during ashfall.
