Governor Sean Parnell this morning announced his intent to run for Governor in this fall’s primary elections.Parnell is scheduled to file the declaration of candidacy paperwork with the Anchorage office of the Division of Elections at 12:30 pm this afternoon.
Parnell is filling the rest of Sarah Palin’s term after she quit the job on last summer.
According to the unofficial primary elections list of the Alaska Division of Elections, Republicans Ralph Samuels, Gerald Heikes, Merica Hlatcu and Sam Little have also filed paperwork to join the race for Governor. Democrat Party candidates are Bob Poe and Hollis French. Also certified for the ballot is Donald Wright for the Alaska Independence Party.
Parnell announced a campaign kick-off party and a press conference tomorrow at his campaign headquarters in Anchorage.
