An announcement was made this winter that Talkeetna’s only public shower/laundry/propane service was going away for good. Some businesses tried to do what they could to help, but as the village teeters on the edge of another busy climbing and tourist season, it is unknown what might happen now that there isn’t a central public shower facility.
