Governor Sean Parnell has appointed Nathan Turner of Nenana to the Board of Game. According to a statement by Parnell, Turner has made a living by trapping, hunting, fishing and guiding. The seven-member Board of Game is in charge of regulating the harvest of game species.
The governor’s prior appointment of Al Barrette from Fairbanks failed as the legislature did not confirm him over concerns that Barrette would favor hunters over other user groups.
The Legislature will have to confirm Nathan Turner but until then, Turner fills in to serve on the board.
