Mayor Talis Colberg appointed Talkeetna resident Dan Harrell to the Mat-Su borough’s Parks, Recreation and trails advisory board. Harrell and James Skinner of Caswell had applied to fill the seat for District 7 after Sandy Kogl vacated the position. Both the Susitna Community Council and the Talkeetna Community Council had endorsed Harrell to fill the vacancy.
The parks, recreation and trails board advises the Borough assembly and administration on the implementation, establishment, development, enforcement and maintenance of parks, trails and recreational facilities. It functions as a go-between the public and the Borough. The board is made up of 11 members.
