Unseasonally warm temperatures are expected for the rest of the week in the Susitna Valley. Past record highs are in the mid 60s for this week and next. The National Weather Service is predicting highs in the mid 60s to the lower 70s, meaning that several temperature records could be broken this week.
Yakutat hit an all time high Sunday with a temperature of 74 degrees. Barrow set a record high minimum temperature of 45 degrees on Sunday. The previous record was 39 degrees set in 2007. Bethel broke its record high temperature yesterday with a recorded temperature of 67.
Fairbanks is also predicting the records will be broken today and throughout the week.
