While the continued improvement of the Parks Highway north of Kashwitna is necessary to improve the safety of a notoriously dangerous section of road, it is ridiculously short-sited not to include construction of a separated bike/pedestrian trail in the design. The bike trail along the Talkeetna Spur Road is much more heavily used than ANY of the bike/pedestrian trails in Palmer/Wasilla, and we would love to see this enthusiasm for active transportation spread south.
