Multiple vehicle accident closes highway briefly Saturday

Troopers and area EMS teams responded to numerous accidents over the holiday weekend.
On Saturday evening, troopers and upper valley EMS responded to a motor vehicle collison at milepost 118 of the Parks Highway.
A motorbike driven by a 14 year old boy from Caldwell, Idaho drove from the edge of the road into the pathway of a vehicle driven by 45 year old Nancy Berube of Anchorage. She had 2 occupants in the vehicle. Berube swerved to avoid the motorbike. The bike struck the vehicle and at the same time the vehicle struck a northbound vehicle in the opposite lane. That vehicle was driven by Jill Klein of Anchorage. Klein had 2 occupants in her vehicle, one being a 3 year old child. All people in vehicles were wearing seatbelts. Everyone was injured in the accident, except for the 3 year old, who was securely fastened in a safety seat. The 14 year motorbike operator was flown by helicopter to Mat Su Regional, the others were transported via ambulance to Mat Su Regional.
The highway was closed for a little less than an hour while victims of the accident were treated and prepared for transportation.
Alcohol was not a factor in the accident. The investigation in the accident is continuing.
