PULLING WEEDS – The YCC spends the morning in the midst of sweetclover at the Sunshine Community Health Center. To get more information on all the invasive species call the Upper Susitna Soil and Water Conservation District at 733-7923
The Youth Conservation Corps has switched from restoring fish habitat this month to attacking invasive plants . The 16 upper valley youth are busy working from Hatcher Pass all the way up to Little Coal Creek as part of an effort to eradicate invasive weeds like orange hawkweed, a bright orange-flowered plant that now covers the Talkeetna airport, most of east Talkeetna and many other areas in the Upper Valley.
