The Much-debated cell tower near the intersection of Lichtenwalner and Talkeetna Spur Road has come online, according to AT&T Spokesman Andy Colley. The AT&T cell site was brought on air this week, and is now providing new 3G coverage south of Talkeetna from Talkeetna Lakes to Fish Lake.

I know this is a dumb question but it’s asked out of wishful thinking. Will this improve or widen reception for other providers such as Verizon or only AT&T?

I believe all communications towers have to allow other carriers to put their equipment up on any tower, but I don’t believe the other carriers are obligated to do so. So there is a chance that Verizon may choose to put equipment there, but it isn’t likely that Verizon service will be boosted by AT&T’s service. Hope that helps – Lorien
