The State of Alaska Department of Natural Resources is looking at a land disposal program in the Trapper Creek Area off Petersville Road. More than 14-thousand acres have been proposed for settlement, subdivided in to as many as 1,500 parcels of 2-and-a-half to six-and-a-half acres. Along with the proposed subdivision, DNR has asked to close the project area to new mineral exploration.
The nearby Subdivisions of Peters Creek and Kenny Creek were originally offered in 1981, with a total of 300 lots between the two of them.
DNR representatives will be at the Trapper Creek Community Council meeting on January 17th at 6:30
The Deadline for public comment on this proposal is Thursday, January 31st.
