We also got in touch with 2012 Yukon Quest champion Hugh Neff who was finishing up an emergency transmission replacement for his dog-truck in order to make it to Saturday’s race. Neff talks candidly about the Copper Basin 300 as a great test race ahead of longer races like the Quest, and why Mushers will often race just so they can be out on their sleds in far-flung corners of Alaska.
