The U.S. Mint has announced that they will honor Denali National Park through the new quarter coin program. The Denali design will be the 15th design to be featured on coins released under a program called ‘America the Beautiful’ program.
An initiative was passed in 2008 that directs the US Mint to issue 56 circulating quarter-dollar coins with designs emblematic of a national park or other national site in each state, the District of Columbia and U.S. Territories.
The first new coin designs will be released in 2010. The Denali quarter is scheduled to be released in 2012.
