Borough assembly ok’s request for state money for Sunshine Clinic in Willow

The Mat-Su Borough Assembly in their last meeting approved a resolution to request state funding for the Sunshine Community Health Center’s new clinic in Willow.Mat-Su Borough assembly member Vern Halter had introduced the resolution, which recommends that the state of Alaska contributes $450,000 to complete the Sunshine clinic Willow building project.

The resolutions says that primary health care, including mental health care needs, of the Willow community area has dramatically grown over the past six years and that the Sunshine Community Health Center has found it necessary to increase facilities, services, and providers in the Willow area to accommodate the increased need.
