Over the weekend, the Su-Valley coed soccer team won its final home games of the season against Lumen Christi and Birchwood.

On Friday, the Rams’ junior varsity and varsity both faced off against Lumen Christi on a cold, wet afternoon. The JV won 4-1, with goals by Cooper Stec, Kai Kingery, and two goals by Aiden Jolley.

The varsity game remained scoreless until after halftime. Lumen Christi took the lead with a goal a few minutes into the second half, which was shortly answered by junior Marshall Pinard. Lumen Christi then tallied a second goal, which was equaled with a penalty kick from Jack Startbuck. Starbuck also scored the game-winner with less than ten minutes left to play. The Rams held off the Lumen Christi offense and claimed a 3-2 victory.

Saturday’s match against Birchwood was a more one-sided affair, with the Rams taking a 5-0 victory.

Su-Valley will hit the road later this week to take part in the state tournament in Healy. Pictures of Friday’s games are posted at the KTNA Facebook page.
