BLM to conduct aerial land surveys near Talkeetna

There will be more helicopters than usual in the air in the Susitna Valley this summer.

According to a statement from the Bureau of Land Management, contractors will use aircraft to conduct surveys beginning in early June and continuing through much of the summer.

The surveys will take place southeast of Talkeetna, and BLM says they are being done in order to issue deeds to Cook Inlet Region, Incorporated as part of the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act.

The survey plan is located at the BLM office in Anchorage.
