In addition to the Mat-Su Borough election, the Talkeetna Community Council, Inc.. board of directors saw three new members elected on Tuesday.
In total, three seats were up for election on Tuesday with two candidates on the ballot, Kristy Kingery and Cortni Ruth. Ruth received the most votes with 82, and Kingery received 77. TCCI also has a process for official write-in candidates to be eligible for election. Lora Nelson, the only approved write-in candidate, received 39 votes and was also elected to the board. There were twenty votes cast for other individuals.
Outgoing TCCI board vice chair Paul Button says a special meeting is in the works to work on the board transition. The next regular meeting of the Talkeetna Community Council is scheduled for December 2nd. At that meeting, the new members will take their seats, and officers will be elected.
