Kenna Rose Grenier
Kenna’s favorite memories from Su Valley surround the numerous athletics trips she participated in. She led the Rams to a state championship in soccer, the first-ever state championship appearance for basketball, and numerous volleyball accolades. She remembers the basketball team getting stuck in Aniak and the team setting up their mattresses facing the gym to watch games. The volleyball team was stuck in Unalaska due to bad weather and the team was treated to a nice meal on the tab of Raven Air. Appetizers and desserts. Kenna also remembers running around Mrs. Keenan’s room having sword fights with Luke.
Kenna is the salutatorian for her class and is a member of the National Honor Society. She has been in drama throughout her time at Su Valley.
Kenna is excited to go to a Colorado College because it will be small and similar to Su Valley. Su Valley has taught Kenna that you can bond with your teachers, and that they are human. It is scary to leave the state for the first time, but she is looking forward to it.
Kenna would like to thank her dad for making sure her car was running at 40 below so she could get to school. She thanks her mom for keeping her fed, and Jimmy for being so generous. Finally, she thanks Mrs. Keenan for teaching her how to think.
Kenna’s advice to young students is to get involved in clubs and activities. Even if you are not that into it, you should come into it with an open mind. People at Su Valley don’t judge you, so don’t be scared to apply yourself.
