KTNA is looking for an evening news reader for Friday nights from 6 to 6:30pm. Whether you are a past volunteer or want to be a new volunteer, we welcome you to join our on-air team. Due to some ongoing website maintenance, we are having trouble with our announcements page. In the meantime, go to our homepage on ktna.org to view a post with announcements. Our online form is available to submit announcements, classifieds, and events for our calendar. If you cannot use the form, you can submit by email to info@ktna.org or by phone at 907-733-1700. Announcements are updated during business hours: 10 am to 3 pm, Monday through Friday. Thank you for your patience as we work to resolve this issue.
Sunshine Community Health Center Board Meeting
Sunshine Community Health Center’s monthly board meeting is Thursday, November, 7th at 5 pm. It will be at the Talkeetna location and via Zoom. You may visit www.sunshineclinic.org for more information, including the Zoom link.
Talkeetna Public Library Events
Here’s what’s coming up at the Talkeetna Public Library:
- The Friends of the Talkeetna Library meet on Friday, November 8th, at 1 pm. A Zoom option is available, call the library for Zoom info. All are welcome.

Talkeetna Skatepark Committee Meeting
The Talkeetna Skatepark Committee will be holding a meeting on Friday, November 8th at 7pm at the Talkeetna Public Library. An upcoming meeting with skatepark creators, funding and community outreach will be discussed. All are welcome to attend.
Holiday Bazaar
The Upper Susitna Community and Senior Center is holding a Holiday Bazaar on Saturday, November 9th from 10am to 4pm. The location is 16463 E. Helena Dr. at Mile 98.4 Parks Hwy. In addition to vendors, there will be a soup bar, silent auction and raffles.
Denali Arts Council
Denali Arts Council is hosting the following events at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar:
- A Fall Swap, Sip and Jam with live music by Benjamin Woods and Sahara Brentor is on Saturday, November 9th from 1pm to 5pm. Clean items in good condition may be dropped off by Friday, November 8th.

Medicare information and enrollment assistance
Sean McPhilamy, a representative of the State of Alaska’s Medicare Information Office, will be at the Talkeetna Public Library on Wednesday, November 13th from 11 am until 2 pm. Medicare counseling and assistance with enrollment will be provided. Appointments are not necessary.
Talkeetna Historical Society’s Annual meeting
The Talkeetna Historical Society’s Annual meeting is being held at the Talkeetna Roadhouse on November 13th from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. This is your chance to hear what the society has been doing this year, renew your membership, vote for board members, and enjoy some food at the Roadhouse. Friends of Benka Lake Board Meeting
The Friends of Benka Lake Board is meeting Wednesday, November 13th, at 6:30 p.m. at the Talkeetna VFW located on Veterans Way. The meeting will include legal updates.
WACO/ USSA Gun Show
Willow Area Community Organization and Upper Susitna Shooters Association host their fist annual Gun Show at the Willow Community Center on Saturday, November 23rd from 10am until 5pm and Sunday, November 24th from 10am until 4pm.
Community Thanksgiving Meal
Myron F. “Ace” Ebling VFW Post #3836 is hosting a full Thanksgiving meal at the VFW in downtown Talkeetna from 1 to 3pm on Thursday, November 28th, Thanksgiving Day. All are welcome.
Classifieds
Talkeetna Elementary is now accepting donations of new or gently used items for the annual silent auction, donations accepted until Nov 22nd. The Auction will be held online from Nov 30th through Dec 14th. All proceeds will go towards the 4th and 5th Grades Science Field trips to Denali National Park and Kachemak Bay.
