Susitna Valley High School wrestlers fought well last weekend at the annual Homer Rumble tournament. Sawyer Love brought home the 1st place medal in the 125 pound category. Violet Cole muscled her way to 2nd place in her bracket in the women’s competition, and Ivan Schwartz placed 3rd in the 130 pound junior varsity contest. Tasi Taala also bagged his first pin of the season in the heavyweight category.
Su-Valley wrestlers will compete next weekend at the Lancer Memorial Tournament, which will be held Friday and Saturday at the Menard Center in Wasilla.
