At about 9:15 pm on March 10th, Alaska State Troopers responded to a shooting in Willow. The victim, Willow resident John Sibole, aged 49, died at the scene.
According to Alaska Department of Public Safety Information Officer Tess Williams, the initial investigation led to the arrest of Willow resident Jared Higgins, aged 31. He is charged with second-degree murder and three counts of third-degree assault. Higgins was remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial Facility.
Williams reports that the Alaska Bureau of Investigation is now responsible for the case. Their investigation is active and ongoing.
