Su Valley Voice for October 16th, 2025 – Government Check-in

Every third Thursday the topic of Su Valley Voice is Government Check-in.  We hope to hear from area community councils as well as borough and state representatives.

In this episode host Trisha Costello was joined by the following guests:

  • Mat Su Borough Mayor Edna DeVries
  • Alaska State Senator Mike Shower

Topics discussed ranged from Proposition 2 – Fuel Excise Tax – on the ballot for the November 4 election; the Borough’s Capital Improvement Program rankings that will be presented for initial approval at the Planning Commission’s October 20, 2025 meeting; newly procured federal funding for the State Department of Transportation projects; general discussion on funding for both state and borough governments.

If you have any questions or comments about this episode or suggestions for future shows, email us at dj@ktna.org or give the station a call at 907-733-1700.
