Todays Announcements

KTNA maintains an online announcement and classified page to help keep our listeners informed. Announcements are mainly for nonprofits. Classifieds are for nonprofits as well as individual needs. The KTNA Community Calendar includes all announcements plus additional community events happening at local businesses.

There are three ways you can submit Announcements, Classifieds and events for the Community Calendar: through our online form, via email at info@ktna.org or by calling 907-733-1700.

Coming up on KTNA

This week’s episode of Six Minute Science is about Whalespotter, technology that ship captains can use to spot whales and avoid them. You can hear this episode at 12:30pm today, right after the midday news.

The topic on Talk of Alaska this week is Extreme Weather. Alaska is known as a land of extremes and weather events across the state in recent weeks have more than lived up to that. From long periods of deep cold to atmospheric rivers causing record breaking snowfall, Alaskans across the state have contended with historic weather. In southeast, boats sank and roofs collapsed from heavy wet snow. What does more frequent extreme weather mean for Alaska and how are state and city officials working to keep up? This episode of Talk of Alaska aired live at 10am today (Tuesday), repeating at 7pm on KTNA.

Line One this week is a rebroadcast on the topic of chronic and complex spine pain. Living with chronic or complex spine pain can feel overwhelming, but understanding it is the first step toward meaningful relief. On this Line One, host Dr. Justin Clark and his guests explore why spine pain develops, how it’s diagnosed, and what today’s most effective, evidence-based treatments look like. They break down common myths, and share practical strategies to protect your back in everyday life. That’s on Wednesday at 10am, on KTNA.

This week on Just K music and quizzes show, the theme is “Zee, Zed, Zulu”, as Kathleen takes us to the end… The end of the alphabet.  That’s Wednesday 1-2 pm.

This week on Su Valley Voice we’re learning about two upcoming events: Alaska Farm & Garden Show and the 64th Annual Willow Winter Carnival. Su Valley Voice airs live this Thursday at 10am with a rebroadcast at 7pm. You can email questions or comments ahead of time to dj@ktna.org or call in live during the show at 907-733-1200 or -1205.
