Susitna Valley High School is having a fundraiser today (Wednesday) from 4-8pm at the school. There will be basketball games and some spinach bread for sale. The proceeds go to a student trip to Washington DC and other needs. All are welcome.

MUTT (Multi Users of Talkeetna Trails) is having a meeting for members and anyone who wants to become a member today (Wednesday, February 26th) at 6:30pm in the Beer hall at Denali Brewpub. The Susitna River Coalition is hosting a winter speaker series event Thursday, February 27th at 6PM. The topic is Carbon capture and sequestration (CCS). This process has been used for decades to capture CO₂ from smokestacks and inject it underground, yet it has not lived up to expectations. Erin McKittrick, a data analyst, writer, and wilderness adventurer from Seldovia, Alaska, will present on how CCS works, its limitations, and the risks of relying on it for climate solutions. The Talkeetna Skatepark Committee presents: Krew Feud, a family-friendly live game show fundraiser in the style of Family Feud.  The event is Saturday, March 1st at 6pm at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar. There is a suggested donation. All raised funds to go towards the construction of the Talkeetna Skatepark.

Denali Arts Council hosts a concert with Matt Heckler on Sunday, March 2nd at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar. Matt is a multi-instrumentalist known for his raw, soulful take on Appalachian and early bluegrass music, with influences from Eastern Europe and Ireland. The Susitna Community Council meets on Thursday, March 6th at 6:00 pm at the Upper Susitna Senior & Community Center. Denali Nordic Ski Club presents the film, The Last King, at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar on Friday March 7th. This R-rated film begins at 7:30pm, after Oosik Registration. This film screening is a folk tale set in 1206 Norway, about ski champions who protect a child with a royal following.

Talkeetna Elementary PTA is hosting a bake sale at the Oosik start line from 10am until 1pm on Saturday, March 8th. In addition to individually wrapped baked goods and healthy trail snacks, they will have water, hot chocolate, and electrolytes.

The Roland Roberts Band will be performing at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar on Saturday, March 8th. This is an all ages show featuring parts of folk, Americana, and country music. Multi Users of Talkeetna Trails (MUTT) are hosting a Community Campfire Gathering on Sunday, March 16th from 2 to 4pm, at the Talkeetna Lakes Park Stadium off of Comsat Road. D&S Road Services is rehabilitating Main Street in Talkeetna beginning today (Thursday, March 27th). They ask that all vehicles and obstacles remain removed from Main Street for the duration of this project. The work is expected to be completed by 5pm (on Thursday).

Talkeetna Public Library's Teen Book to Movie Program meets Saturday, March 29th at 6pm. The book Enola Holmes by Nancy Springer and the movie will be discussed. Teens ages 13-18 are welcome.
