There will be basketball games and some spinach bread for sale. The proceeds go to a student trip to Washington DC and other needs. All are welcome. - MUTT (Multi Users of Talkeetna Trails) is having a meeting for members and anyone who wants to become a member today (Wednesday, February 26th) at 6:30pm in the Beer hall at Denali Brewpub. They will plan their 3rd annual Rich Crain Classic event and are looking for volunteers and ideas. All are welcome to attend. The Susitna River Coalition is hosting a winter speaker series event Thursday, February 27th at 6PM. The topic is Carbon capture and sequestration (CCS). This process has been used for decades to capture CO₂ from smokestacks and inject it underground, yet it has not lived up to expectations. Erin McKittrick, a data analyst, writer, and wilderness adventurer from Seldovia, Alaska, will present on how CCS works, its limitations, and the risks of relying on it for climate solutions. Matt is a multi-instrumentalist known for his raw, soulful take on Appalachian and early bluegrass music, with influences from Eastern Europe and Ireland. He has toured with bands like Devil Makes Three, Lost Dog Street Band, and Flogging Molly. Doors open at 6:30, and the show starts at 7pm. The Roland Roberts Band will be performing at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar on Saturday, March 8th. This is an all ages show featuring parts of folk, Americana, and country music. | 1 event, - Multi Users of Talkeetna Trails (MUTT) are hosting a Community Campfire Gathering on Sunday, March 16th from 2 to 4pm, at the Talkeetna Lakes Park Stadium off of Comsat Road. All are welcome to bring their dogs, hit the trails and and share stories with fellow trail users. There will be an info booth and a warming station. Due to current trail conditions, the 3rd Annual Rich Crain Classic is moving to a dry land race later in the spring.
