Broadway in TKA – Kaitlin Lawrence – Denali Arts Council
Sheldon Community Arts HangarDenali Arts Council hosts a night of music with professional actress and theater director, Kaitlin Lawrence, on Saturday, June 28th at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar. Kaitlin’s performance includes a setlist ranging from show tunes to Bonnie Raitt and original songs, with a splash of Broadway flair. Doors open at 6:30pm, the show starts at 7.

Skatepark Working Meeting

This will be a working meeting to reach out to sponsors, create a fundraising thermometer to display the progress at the park, and brainstorm ways to raise funds for the skatepark. Willow 4th of July Parade & Celebration
Willow Community CenterThe Willow Area Community Organization (WACO) hosts Willow's 4th of July Parade and Celebration this Friday. The parade starts at the First Baptist Church at noon and travels to the Willow Community Center. Following the parade is a celebration at the Community Center; there will be a contest for the most patriotic outfit and a community BBQ beginning at 1:30pm. More information on WACO's Facebook Page.

Jazz Concert – Denali Arts Council
Sheldon Community Arts HangarDenali Arts Council hosts a Jazz Concert with Maestro Rocco John Iacovone (“E-ya-ka-vone-ay”) at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar. Rocco's Jazz Workshop attendees present their final performance with special musical guests, Joel Mosier and Steve Durr. Additionally, led by Denise Iacovone, painters from the Making the Audible Visible workshop will be on stage painting during the performance. Doors open at 6:30pm and the music starts at 7.

Alaska Division of Forestry burn permit suspension
The Alaska Division of Forestry has a burn permit suspension in effect for the Mat-Su Borough. A burn permit suspension means no burning of burn barrels, debris piles, or lawn burns. Campfires smaller than 3ft in diameter for the purpose of warming, cooking, or signaling are still allowed. Adequate clearance away from combustibles and attendance until cold to the touch are still required for campfires. Any approved fire, even a small one should be undertaken with extreme caution and vigilance at this time of year. Follow the link in the announcement on ktna.org for more information.

Green Light Circus – Denali Arts Council
Sheldon Community Arts HangarThis Friday and Saturday, July 11th and 12th Denali Arts Council hosts the Green Light Circus's performances - The Time loop Troupe! This year, the circus is traveling through TIME. Expect gravity-defying acts, daring stunts, and time-bending surprises as local kids tumble through the ages. Doors open at 6pm and the show starts at 7pm. Tickets are only available at the door.
As part of the Green light Circus festivities, there will be a Fairway Carnival on Saturday, July 12th outside the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar from 12 to 4pm. This is a family friendly event with face painting, balloon animals, carnival games, magic shows, a dunk tank and more. Learn more at denaliartscouncil.org. -

Summer Reading Program – Talkeetna Public Library

This week Solstice Rescue Dogs will be at the library with dogs that are specially trained to rescue people from danger. There are three more weeks of activities and reading incentives, all ages are welcome to attend.
