  • Emergency Preparedness Fair – CERT

    Willow Community Center

    The Willow, Talkeetna and Trapper Creek CERT host the 5th Biennial Su Valley Emergency Preparedness Fair at the Willow Community Center from 11am until 2pm on Saturday, May 30th, with education about preparedness for earthquakes, wildfires, floods, CPR, first aid, and backcountry safety. There will be indoor and outdoor exhibits with family activities for all ages, including live demonstrations, an earthquake escape room, door prizes and vendors.     Talkeetna Recycling is open on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 12:00 to 4:00 pm at the Talkeetna Transfer station. Cardboard recycling is available on Saturdays only. They are always looking for volunteers. To learn more, call Cici at (907)355-8324 and visit their Facebook Page.

  • Volunteer Trail Work Day

    Talkeetna Ridge Trail, Comsat

    There will be a volunteer work day on the Talkeetna Ridge Trail on Saturday, May 30 from 1-5pm. Volunteers will meet at the end of Comsat Road at 1pm. Closed-toed shoes and leather gloves are advised. Hand saws and loppers are needed if you have them. Snacks and drinks will be provided.

    Talkeetna Elementary PTA hosts Pick-Up Basketball for teens and adults, 6th grade and up, at Talkeetna Elementary School's gym on Sundays from 6-8 pm.   • Plants for Salmon – Susitna River Coalition

    The Susitna River Coalition and partners host the fifth annual Plants for Salmon on Saturday, June 6th from 10 am to 1 pm at Caswell Lake. Volunteers will help plant native trees and shrubs to support salmon habitat and streambank restoration efforts. Participants are encouraged to bring gloves and sturdy shoes.
