The Susitna River Coalition and partners host the fifth annual Plants for Salmon on Saturday, June 6th from 10 am to 1 pm at Caswell Lake. Volunteers will help plant native trees and shrubs to support salmon habitat and streambank restoration efforts. Participants are encouraged to bring gloves and sturdy shoes. The Upper Susitna Food Pantry is looking for volunteers to help the setup of a new hydroponic garden at their new location at 38867 South Commercial Drive adjacent to NAPA on the Talkeetna Spur Rd.  The setup is happening Saturday, June 6th from 10am to 2pm. Valley Recycling’s 9th annual, Recycle Revival Music Fest is on Sunday, June 7th starting at 1pm. Recycle Revival is a family-friendly event at Skeetawk in Hatcher Pass, . There is a Chase Community Council Special Meeting on Wednesday, June 10th at 6PM at the Alaska Railroad mile 232 gravel pit. The only item that will be discussed is this summer's local trail maintenance projects.

Denali Rescue Volunteers present their fundraising event a Mount Huntington Climbs Presentation at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar on Friday, June 12th at 7pm. 50 years ago, Roger Robinson and team made the second ascent of Mt. Huntington’s NW Ridge. Cindy Jones, the first woman to summit, will present their 1976 climb alongside a short film of the 1964 first ascent. The program also features Brian McCullough and Lance Leslie’s 1981 alpine-style ascent and first traverse of the mountain.

Denali Education Center is hosting the Talkeetna Community Summer Swap on Sunday, June 14th from 11:00am-3:00pm. Gently used items may be dropped off at the Denali Education Center, Talkeetna Campus from 8:00am-11:00am on Sunday, June 14th. Contact jill.telnack@denali.org with any questions.

The Upper Susitna Softball Association is offering all kids complementary hot dogs and hamburgers for participating in a softball game and skills competition this Friday, June 19th starting a 3:30 PM at the ball field in Talkeetna. The fun will conclude before Live at 5. This event is for kids of ages around 5-13 years years old.

The Upper Susitna Seniors are hosting a father's Day BBQ at the Upper Susitna Community and Senior Center on Saturday, June 20th, from 10am to 2pm. The community is invited for food and fun. You may also bring new or used items to sell. Call the center at 907-733-6200 for more details.

A community yard sale will be held at the Talkeetna Gear Shop on Saturday, June 27th. 100% of the proceeds will go to the Talkeetna Skatepark. Donated items of all types can be brought to the Gear Shop through June 26th. The Gear Shop is open from 10am to 6pm every day, and is located across from K2 Aviation, on Second Street in Talkeetna.

Denali Arts Council host a Roustabout Show on Sunday, June 28th at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar.
The 2026 Green Light Circus instructors will showcase their talents for the public. Doors open at 2:30 and the show will begin at 3:00pm. Donations are welcome.

Denali Arts Council presents a jazz performance featuring Maestro Rocco John Iacovone /E-ya-ka-vone-ay/ and local Jazz Workshop participates on Thursday, July 2nd at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar. Rocco is a composer, musician, teaching-artist  and plays Alto and Soprano Saxophones and Piano. Doors at 6:30pm and music at 7pm. Tickets are available at denaliartscouncil.org

The Talkeetna Historical Society is seeking artists to decorate wooden salmon cutouts for their upcoming Salmon Run Art Auction fundraiser. The completed artwork is due by July 15th. Those who are interested may stop by the museum or call Autumn at (907)304-0321 to coordinate a pickup time. The museum is open every day from 9am to 5pm.
