DEA National Drug Take-Back Day – Matanuska-Susitna Borough
The DEA National Drug Take-Back Day is on Saturday, April 25th. There are two drop off locations available in the Susitna Valley from 10am to 2pm - at the Wasilla and Palmer Fred Meyers. All are welcome to drop off unused or expired medications in original packaging or a generic bag, without your personal information. Liquid products, such as cough syrup, should remain tightly sealed in the original container. Syringes and medical waste cannot be accepted. Turning in unused medications reduces prescription drug abuse and accidental poisoning, and protects local waterways and the environment. Upper Susitna Soil and Water Conservation District revival meeting

Helena Ave. / Mile 98.5 Parks Hwy., Sunshine, AlaskaUpper Susitna Soil and Water Conservation District is having a meeting on Saturday, April 25th from 2 to 5 pm at the Upper Susitna Community and Senior Center. The district is being revived to resume its role in the community with initiatives in salmon and wildlife habitat stewardship, trails, AK agriculture and local food production, invasive species and providing public information. Sheldon Community Arts HangarWe’re taking a trip down memory lane! KTNA is hosting a casual community gathering featuring a screening of the KTNA Millennium Concert from April 22, 2000. Volunteers needed for Summer Reading Program
The Talkeetna Public Library is looking for a volunteers for their Summer Reading Program. This is a weekly program with different weekly themes. The first day is Thursday, May 28, beginning with programming at 11:15am followed by Lunch on the Lawn. Scholarship opportunity – Sunshine Community Health Center
Sunshine Community Health Center (SCHC) Student Scholarship Program is accepting applications from high school seniors pursuing degrees or certificates in health care, behavioral health, and social services by awarding scholarships of up to $2,500. These scholarships recognize students who have demonstrated leadership, community involvement, and a dedication to wellness. The deadline is May 1st.
