    Sheldon Community Arts Hangar

    Denali Arts Council host a Roustabout Show on Sunday, June 28th at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar.
    The 2026 Green Light Circus instructors will showcase their talents for the public. Doors open at 2:30 and the show will begin at 3:00pm. Donations are welcome.

    The jazz assemble Inside Out performs at the Talkeetna Alaska Lodge in Talkeetna on Sunday, June 28th at 7pm. This performance features Rocco Iacovone on the sax, Jason Ajemian on the bass, and Jack De Salvo on electric guitar.

    Art Workshops – Denali Arts Council

    Professional teaching artist, Denise Iacovone is offering 3 art workshops this summer at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar.
    The first is a Contour Line Drawing Workshop. Participants will learn how to work in contour line, creating multiple experimental drawings in a studio setting. This two-day workshop is on Friday, June 26th, and Monday, June 29th.

  • Improvisational Painting and Music, Art Workshop – Denali Arts Council

    Professional teaching artist, Denise Iacovone is offering art workshops this summer at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar.
    The second workshop is Improvisational Painting and Music: Making the Invisible Visible. Participants will learn to listen to, identify, and express live music using watercolors and colored pencils. They will strive to capture the essence of the music as we work with the Talkeetna Jazz Orchestra during dress rehearsal and their concert performance. Two-Day Workshop July 1, 4:30 pm- 7:30 pm and July 2, 6 pm- 9 pm.

    The Talkeetna Public Library hosts the Summer Reading Program weekly on Thursdays at 11am.  At noon, all ages are welcome to have lunch together- on the lawn. Weekly backpacks with breakfasts, lunches, and snacks will be available for pick up for anyone aged 18 and under. If you are unable to pick up your lunch on Thursday between noon and 1, please let the library know and they can hold them for you.     Denali Arts Council presents a jazz performance featuring Maestro Rocco John Iacovone /E-ya-ka-vone-ay/ and local Jazz Workshop participates on Thursday, July 2nd at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar. Rocco is a composer, musician, teaching-artist  and plays Alto and Soprano Saxophones and Piano. Doors at 6:30pm and music at 7pm. Tickets are available at denaliartscouncil.org

    The Denali Arts Council and the Talkeetna Chamber of Commerce host Live at Five, an annual Summer Concert series beginning this Friday, May 17th. The weekly concerts are family-friendly and are every Friday from 5-7 pm at the Talkeetna Village Park. The concerts feature bands from Alaska and the lower 48. Students are welcome to come and read, work on homework or a craft, and spend time with friends from 3:15 until 5pm every Tuesday.
