    Here’s what’s coming up at the Willow Public Library:

    • Willow Library Mentoring Program meets each Wednesday from 3:15 to 4:30pm. This program is open to all Willow Elementary Students. Additional mentors are needed.
    • Story Time followed by free play in the Community Center is on Thursdays at 11am. This is geared toward ages 0-5, but all are welcome.

    Storytime for all ages starts this Thursday at 11:15am at the Talkeetna Public Library. This week’s theme is Making New Friends at the Library. There will be a snack, stories and a craft. Next week, Storytime is changing its start time to 11am. You may call 907-861-7645 for more information.

  • Addiction Recovery Group – Sunshine Community Health Center

    Sunshine Community Health Center hosts an Addiction Recovery Group at the Talkeetna Clinic from 1 to 2 PM every second and fourth Thursday of the month, the next one being on May 22nd. This program is open to adults seeking support in their recovery journey, it provides education, peer support, and therapeutic tools for individuals navigating addiction. An assessment is required before joining, to schedule you may call (907) 733-9292.

  • Cardboard processing training

    Talkeetna Recycling is holding a training for cardboard processing on Friday, May 23rd at 1:30 at the baler building at the Transfer Site. Everyone is welcome to attend. Recycling is very much in need of additional volunteers for both regular recycling and cardboard processing. Any help would be very much appreciated.

    Denali Arts Council and Talkeetna Chamber of Commerce host Live at Five, a family friendly music event at the Talkeetna Village Park, on Fridays at 5pm, rain or shine. The series starts May 23rd and the band is Nothin' But Trouble.

  • Willow Public Library Annual 5K Fun Walk & Run

    The Willow Public Library 9th Annual 5K Fun Walk & Run is on Saturday, May 24 at 10am, starting in the Library parking lot. Registration forms are available at the Library or you may register starting at 9am on race day. There is a participation fee, and tee shirts are available for participants. Proceeds support Willow Library programs. Questions may be addressed to Library staff at 907-861-7655. This event is sponsored by the Willow Library and Willow Library Association.
