    Denali Arts Council and Talkeetna Chamber of Commerce host Live at Five, a family friendly music event at the Talkeetna Village Park, on Fridays at 5pm, rain or shine. The band this week is Leo Ash Blues Band.

  • Don Sheldon Memorial Reception

    Sheldon Community Arts Hangar

    The public is invited to a Don Sheldon Memorial Reception and Statue Reveal at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar on Saturday, May 31st to honor the life and flying of Talkeetna's pioneer bush pilot, Don Sheldon. Attendees are welcome to share stories of Don at 5:00pm. There is a community potluck at 6:00pm followed by live polka music from Alaska's Main Squeeze.

  • Recycle Revival Music Fest

    Valley Community for Recycling Solutions' annual, Recycle Revival Music Fest is on Sunday, June 1st, at Skeetawk in Hatcher Pass, starting at 1PM. This family-friendly event includes food trucks, a beer garden, lift rides, and live music. Learn more at valleyrecyclingak.org.

    There will be curling Monday and Wednesday evenings at the Talkeetna Elementary Jack MacDonald Ice Rink. There will be draws at 5pm, 6pm and 7pm. Registration and more information at talkeetnacurling.org.

  • Talkeetna Community Council monthly meeting

    The Talkeetna Community Council meets at 7pm on the first Monday of each month at the Talkeetna Public Library and over Zoom. The next meeting is June 2nd. More information, including the Zoom link at talkeetnacouncil.org.

    This week, Talkeetna Community Schools hosts Toddler Gym Time on Tuesday, June 3rd from 4:30-6pm at the Talkeetna Elementary School.     Here’s what’s coming up at the Willow Public Library:

    • Willow Library Mentoring Program meets each Wednesday from 3:15 to 4:30pm. This program is open to all Willow Elementary Students. Additional mentors are needed.
    • Story Time followed by free play in the Community Center is on Thursdays at 11am. This is geared toward ages 0-5, but all are welcome.

    • Storytime for ages 0-7 begins 11am with a snack, stories, and a craft.
    • Lunch on the Lawn for all ages up to 18 is at 12pm.
    • The Summer Reading Program for all ages begins at 1pm.
