Wild Salmon Weekend
The Susitna River Coalition (or SRC) invites the public to a Wild Salmon Weekend celebration in Talkeetna.
- On Saturday, August 9, SRC has arranged for a guided Riverside Nature Hike. Meet at the river area at the end of Main Street at 10am. That evening, at 6 pm, at the Denali Education Center, there is a screening of film The Super Salmon with a community conversation.
- The Susitna River Coalition and Denali National Park and Preserve are hosting Talkeetna Trail Days on Sunday, August 10th. The volunteer event will take place from 10am to 2 pm along the Talkeetna riverfront and Chase Trail. Volunteers will meet in front of the Walter Harper Talkeetna Ranger Station at 2241 South B Street. Tools and safety gear will be provided.
- Sunday evening from 5 to 8pm there will be a Wild Salmon Celebration featuring food, community screen printing, and an oral history booth at the Sheldon Community Arts Center.

Sunshine Community Health Center is offering Dear Body, an eight-week virtual group therapy series focused on healing your relationship with food and body image through the principles of Intuitive Eating. Willow Public LibraryHere’s what’s coming up at the Willow Public Library:
- Willow Library Mentoring Program meets each Wednesday from 3:15 to 4:30pm. This program is open to all Willow Elementary Students. Additional mentors are needed.
- Story Time followed by free play in the Community Center is on Thursdays at 11am. This is geared toward ages 0-5, but all are welcome.

Talkeetna Public Library TalkeetnaTalkeetna Public Library hosts various programs through the fall and winter. Storytime is at 11:15am on Thursdays with a snack, stories and a craft, beginning on August 14th. The theme this week is Off to School with a special prize for all attendees.

Auditions for a musical comedy show- Denali Arts Council
Sheldon Community Arts HangarDenali Arts Council is holding open auditions for a musical comedy show called the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee on August 18th at 7pm at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar. Be prepared by knowing your vocal range, prepared to sing at least 10-12 bars of any song, to do a bit of dramatic reading or improv. Must be available to rehearse during September & October.
